Dr. Gerald Weinstein

Dr. Gerald Weinstein has joined CHRISTUS St. Vincent Surgical Services as a Cardio Thoracic Surgeon. Prior to joining CHRISTUS St. Vincent, Dr. Weinstein served as attending surgeon for Memorial Medical Center and Mountain View Regional Medical Center, both in Las Cruces, NM. Dr. Weinstein received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University and Doctor of Medicine Degree from New York University, School of Medicine. He completeda Surgical Internship and a portion of his Residency at NYU- Bellevue Medical Center in New York, NY. The remainder of his Residency was completed at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. Dr. Weinstein is a Lieutenant Commander, Medical Corps, with the US Navy Reserve. Dr. Weinstein is a member of the Amercian Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.

Dr. Poseidon Varvitsiotis

Dr. Poseidon Varvitsiotis specializes in Cardio Thoracic Surgery at CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center. He received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Athens Medical School in Athens, Greece. Dr. Varvitsiotis completed his General Surgery Internship and Surgery Research Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He completed his General Surgery Residency at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Dr. Varvitsiotis also completed two Cardiothoracic Fellowships at the University of Louisville in Kentucky and the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH. Dr. Varvitsiotis is certified with the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
