Hospital Visitation Restrictions for Influenza Season
Santa Fe, NM, Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 – In an effort to ensure patient and visitor safety, CHRISTUS St. Vincent Regional Medical Center will set restrictions on visitation at the hospital.
Effective immediately, the following restrictions will be implemented:
- No visitors under 14.
- No one under the age of 14 is allowed in the hospital unless they are a patient.
- No more than two visitors at a time.
- This applies to both visitors in inpatient rooms and those accompanying patients to the emergency department. This will not apply to patients in end-of-life situations.
- No sick visitors.
- Visitors: If you are experiencing fever, cough, sore throat, fatigue, nausea, vomiting or diarrhea, please stay home.
- Patients: Ask for a mask.
- Wear a mask if you have flu or cold symptoms.
- Wash your hands.
- Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
These restrictions will be enforced through the end of the current Influenza Season or until further notice. The guidelines are based on the recommendations of the New Mexico Hospital Association.
