The CurriculumFirst-year training occurs at the University of New Mexico facilities in Albuquerque along with residents from the Albuquerque-based program as well as those training for placement in Roswell. Transfer to Santa Fe takes place at the end of Year One. The second and third years in training are spent in community settings in Santa Fe and outlying areas.
The curriculum is predominantly rotational in nature, combined with some longitudinal educational experiences. The continuity clinic provides a longitudinal patient base for each resident. The intention is to immerse the resident into a successful community clinic setting, which reflects a holistic approach to health care.
