James Melisi MD

James Melisi, MD, MBA, FACS, has joined CHRISTUS St. Vincent Neurosurgical Associates as a General Neurosurgeon.

Board certified in Neurosurgery, Dr. Melisi will specialize in brain tumors, pituitary tumors, complex spinal surgery and minimally invasive spine surgery. He is a member of the American Association of Neurosurgical Surgeons, Congress of Neurological Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Prior to joining CHRISTUS St. Vincent, Dr. Melisi ran his own successful private practice in Neurosurgery since 1993 in northern Virginia.

Dr. Melisi received his undergraduate degree in Biology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, N.J. He earned his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the State University of New York, Downstate College of Medicine in Brooklyn, NY.

Dr. Melisi completed his Residency in Neurosurgery at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and the Washington Hospital Center. Recently, Dr. Melisi received his MBA in Healthcare Management from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. For the last ten years, Dr. Melisi has been voted one of the Top Doctors in Neurosurgery by the Washingtonian Magazine.
